Norham and the Battle of Flodden

To be held on Saturday 11 May 2013 at NORHAM and a visit to the battle site.

 

The Battle of Flodden took place on 9th September 1513 and to commemorate the event the ANLHS in conjunction with Norham and Ladykirk Local History Society are holding a Study Day on 11^th May 2013. The battle was a National tragedy that led to the death of 15,000 Scots and English soldiers, 100 noblemen and the Scottish King James IV and this is a unique opportunity to learn more about the events of the time.

10-00 a.m.                 Registration, tea / coffee, in Norham Village Hall

10-30 a.m.                 Guided tour of Norham village / Castle

12-00 a.m.                 Lunch

1-00 p.m.                    Talk on Local Area & Flodden

2-00 – 2-30 p.m.       Transfer to Flodden battlefield site, using own transport.

3-00 p.m.                    Walk around Flodden with Clive Hallam-Baker

           

Tickets are available from the ANLHS at £9.00 each and include tea / coffee upon arrival.

A location map & parking information will be issued with the tickets.

A buffet lunch with a vegetarian option is available, both at a cost of £6-00 per person.
